In greenhouse horticulture, water quality largely determines how strong and healthy plants grow. Oxygen plays an important role in this. The Pro-Vida Nanogenerator is used worldwide to enrich irrigation water with stable nanobubbles. Usually the unit is connected to a silo or day tank so the water reaches the greenhouse with sufficient oxygen.
We aim for an oxygen level of 20–30 mg/L in the silo or reservoir, ensuring that 15–25 mg/L remains available at the plants. During transport through pipelines, some oxygen is always lost.
Less biofilm, cleaner irrigation water
In modern greenhouses, biofilm is one of the biggest challenges. It adheres to pipes and drip lines, causes blockages, and affects crop growth. Nanobubbles help stabilize water and reduce biofilm formation. This results in cleaner water, less contamination, and a more consistent flow toward the crops.
We also see direct effects in water reservoirs: less algae growth, a clearer water surface, and lower microbiological pressure.
Measuring is knowing
With a dissolved oxygen meter, you can easily monitor the performance of Pro-Vida. By measuring in the silo and at multiple points in the greenhouse, you can directly check whether values remain stable during irrigation. This allows you to stay in control of water quality and make adjustments when needed.

Maintenance and reliability
The nanogenerator itself is maintenance-free. The oxygen generator and pump do require periodic maintenance. Sometimes the pump’s pre-filter needs cleaning, depending on water quality. The oxygen generator receives annual service. Within the Netherlands, we provide this maintenance for you. Outside the Netherlands we supply the necessary parts and instructions. The systems are designed so that maintenance can easily be done by the user.
